Smart lighting is pretty amazing. It's not easy to set up motion sensors in your house. Signify may have come up with the perfect solution with its new Space Sense feature.

Space Sense is a software feature coming to Signify. When someone walks into a room and the lights go on, the signal strength of the wi-fi network is changed by the movement of the person. It was only a matter of time before a lighting company figured out how to use wi-fi sensor in their technology.

You don't need a lot of bulbs in a room to start using the technology. The barrier to entry is low because of the range of smart light bulbs. New products recently released by the company include a floor lamp and portable lamp, as well as new color-changing outdoor string lights that are coming next month.

WiZ has a wide range of smart light bulbs and light fixtures that work over Wi-Fi and don’t require a hub. You need two in a room to use SpaceSense.

The company has promised that it will support the new smart home standard Matter.

The new wiZ V2 app will be used to set up and control Space Sense. The app allows a user to adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection and set a delay to keep the lights on even if no motion is detected.

The technology is opt-in and doesn't record a person's location or face.

SpaceSense will be able to work on most of the products released by the company. Compatibility with older models is being worked on. Any brand with the Connected by wiZ logo is included. It won't work with Signify's products.
