A collection of photos from Musk's ex-girlfriend sold for over 165,000 dollars at auctions.

The fall semester of 1994 to 1995 was at the University of Pennsylvania. Musk was not good on the phone when they were together. She told the TV station that he wasn't good long distance.

When they were dating, Musk was passionate about the future of electric cars. She said that he talked about it back then.

A 14-karat gold necklace with a small green emerald was the most expensive item sold. The card was signed by Musk and sold for over $16,000. Photos she took of Musk were sold.

The items were being sold to raise money for the college education of her stepson.

The college assignments Musk graded back in 1995 were sold by Boston-based auction house. Two assignments went for over $7,700 in December.

Other well-known people's items have been sold by the auction house. The prototype of Steve Jobs' Apple-1 computer was sold last month. Last month, it sold a box of personal cigars from the former British Prime Minister.

Musk appeared to be aware of the sale as he changed his profile picture to one of the photos sold at the auction.

Musk didn't respond immediately to the request for comment.
