The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are two of the most important teams in the division, so it's no surprise that they'll play each other in the sixth game of the season.

Ian Rapoport reported that there was a lot of optimism after the surgery for the broken thumb of the Cowboys quarterback.

There is a chance that he can play against the Eagles.

Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones explained during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan why the team didn't place quarterback Prescott on IR after he injured his knee.

He would be put on IR if he wasn't ready to go until after four games. We aren't doing that." We don't want to not have him practice since we think he can play.

The next four games for Dallas are against Cincinnati, New York Giants, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams and they are all important games.

The Giants and Commanders are in the same division as the Cincinnati and Rams who made it to the Super Bowl.

Cooper Rush won the only start of his career last season against the Minnesota Vikings and the Cowboys will look to navigate those games with him.

It will be up to the other players to keep the team going. Dallas was unable to do that in 2020 when an ankle injury limited the two-time Pro Bowler to just five games.

If Prescott can return in time for the majority of the season, things might not be as bad as they are currently.
