According to a report, the New York Mets are looking for their next president.

SandyAlderson's contract expires at the end of the year and he never wanted to hold the position for long. Even if no hire is imminent, the Mets have already begun interviewing candidates to replace him.

If a process that could easily stretch into next year is still ongoing, he might stay in his role as president. He will remain with the Mets even after a new president is elected.

After a successor is found, he will step down as president.

This is not the first time thatAlderson has worked for the Mets.

He stepped down from his position as general manager due to health issues. The Yankees advanced to the 2015 World Series but lost to the Royals.

The Mets are currently in first place in the National League East with a half-game lead over the Atlanta Braves.

There is a lot of baseball experience for the Mets'Alderson. He was the general manager of the Oakland A's from 1983 to 1997 and the vice president of baseball operations from 2005 to 2009.
