The first details of a new, bigger class of vessels will be unveiled by Princess Cruises in a few years.
The Sun Princess will be the first ship in the series to have a giant dome at its top that covers a multideck pool and lounge area.
There will be a more elaborate version of the multideck interior piazzas that are a Princess Cruises signature space. Princess ships will have a lighter decor than other ships.

Sun Princess will be 21% bigger than the largest ships in the Princess fleet. Assuming two passengers per cabin, it will accommodate more than 4,000 passengers.
It will be one of the larger vessels at sea when it begins sailing.

The Piazza areas will be a bigger version of the ones on Princess ships. The Piazza on Sun Princess will feature a screen that can be moved and configured to show live entertainment.

A coffee shop called Coffee Currents will be located next to the Piazza. The Crooners Bar and Alfredo's Pizzeria are two of Princess' signature venues.
The dome is the most unusual new feature for Sun Princess. It's a multilevel deck area covered with a glass dome that is the first true glass dome on a cruise ship.
A place to lounge during the day will be found in the dome's indoor pool area. The area underneath The Dome will become a nightspot with a similar vibe to Florida's South Beach. State-of-the-art lighting effects and rigging will allow for aerial performances in the pool stage.
Sun Princess will have a new level of suite accommodations called the Signature Collection, which will include a private restaurant, lounge and sun deck. It's Princess Cruises' first move towards offering the sort of "ship-within-a-ship" upscale suite areas that have become a mainstay on some giant vessels.
The Sanctuary, the extra-charge adults-only area found on Princess ships, will be home to the Signature Sun Deck.

The best-located minisuite staterooms will be part of the Reserve Collection on Sun Princess. The Reserve Collection rooms on Sun Princess will have access to an exclusive Reserve Collection restaurant.
There will be 50 suites in Sun Princess. A larger complex for families and groups will be created by connecting 100 rooms on the ship.
There are no specific itineraries for Sun Princess. The vessel will stay in the Mediterranean through the summer of 2024, according to Princess. It will operate voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean in the fall of 2024.
The first three voyages of Sun Princess will go on sale on Friday.
