In the U.S., there are 200 airports with the TSA PreCheck program.
If you are a U.S. citizen you can apply for a five-year membership in the PreCheck program. The membership can be renewed six months before it expires for an additional fee. Global Entry members are also eligible for the pre-check program.

There's a way to avoid out-of-pocket costs for the program if you pay upfront. You'll be reimbursed when you enroll in and renew your memberships if you use a credit card with statement credits that cover the application fees.
Once your application is approved, you'll be issued a known traveler number that will let you know if you're eligible for the pre-check program. You can skip security lines at select airports if the KTN is applied to flight bookings.

TSA PreCheck has become a popular option for travelers due to the resurgence of travel this past year. The number of total members increased from 18.9 million to 27.4 million in the year after the H1N1 swine flu outbreak.
Short waits in security lines are still faced by members of the PreCheck program. The majority of the members of the PreCheck program waited less than five minutes to go through security.

There are some airlines that do not participate in the program. Advanced Airlines, Eurowings Discover, Viva Air Colombia and Breeze Airways are just some of the airlines that have been included in the TSA PreCheck program.
