We are getting a new live-action series from Prime Video that is based on TheBlade Runner. It was only a matter of time before a TV show came on the horizon after the success of the movie Blade Runner 2049. The last five years have seen the creation of comics, an animated series, and an adventure game.
The director of the original 1982 Blade Runner film, Ridley Scott, will be an executive producer of Blade Runner 2099, along with his production studio Scott Free Production and Alcon Production. Shining Girls writer and executive producer Silka Luisa is set to take on the role of showrunner.
Michael Green, who wrote the Blade Runner 2049 film, is an executive producer on the project. The writers announced so far include Tom and Luisa. Even though it will only be available through one of the largest corporations of our time, it is nice to see it finally has a home.
