Lindsey Graham is one of the most dishonest politicians in the country. Women would have access to reproductive health care without too much interference from the government if the court had not upended the case. It should come as no surprise that the senior senator from South Carolina is the one to expose the lie of the Republican Party that they wanted abortion to be decided in the state.
It was not a position that could be held for a long time. It was illogical to say that murder should be illegal or legal based on where the abortion is done. They didn't say they'd be OK with the murder of toddlers being declared legal in South Carolina and illegal in California, but they did say they'd be OK with abortion. It should be illegal if it's murder. Stop inflaming a debate that is already emotional and morally sensitive.
Graham was involved in that lie back in May. If abortion is legal and on what terms, the United States should have decapitated it before 1973. He was in favor of a 15-week abortion ban. The Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act is an attempt to help reproductive rights in states led by Democrats and allow red states to implement anti- abortion laws.
Right out of central casting, Graham is the face of the Republican push to impose an abortion ban nationwide, because he was a critical voice in misleading the Supreme Court. The lie that it was customary to not seat a new justice during the year of a presidential election was sold by Graham. The court was left short-handed for nearly a year just to rob a Democrat of one of the most consequential decisions a president can make. He lied when he said that he wouldn't oppose attempts by a Republican president to seat a new Court member during an election year, until he did it during Donald Trump's final year in office.
No matter how self-righteous he is, the man can't be trusted. Neil Collins had no problem empathizing with women in his testimony before a state House committee. He told us that a doctor told him the girl's life was in danger when she miscarried.
There is a greater than 50% chance that she will lose her uterus. She has a 10 percent chance of developing sepsis and dying. I feel like that weighs on me. I supported that bill. People are being affected by these.
I should have been aware that he would vote for an even more barbaric anti- abortion law just a few days later. He suspects that Graham won't be hurt by saying one thing then doing another. The women who will be hurt by their duplicity are not important.
