West is following in the footsteps of Musk. According to The Wall Street Journal, lawyers for the artist sent a notice to Gap to end their partnership.

According to the letter, Gap will still be able to sell current clothing.

The lawyer for Ye said that Gap left him no choice but to end their agreement.

Gravante said thatYe had tried to work through the issues with GAP. He said thatYe will open his stores to make up for lost time.

According to Ye, Gap failed to make his merchandise available in its brick and mortar stores by an agreed upon deadline and never opened a dedicated store for his brand.

A person for Gap didn't respond to a request for comment.

The artist has accused the company of not allowing him to participate in the creative process and taking credit for his designs on his social media accounts.

Ye told Gap executives that they needed to give him the position to be Ye or he would have to do the thinking elsewhere.

Earlier this year, Musk, a friend of Ye, backed out of his $44 billion agreement to purchase Twitter, after being critical of the company on the internet. The billionaire is trying to force him to buy the company at the original price.

They've been friends for a long time. The CEO of the company has said that Ye is his biggest inspiration. Ye told Forbes that Musk offered to support him in his presidential bid.

Under a 10-year agreement with Ye, Gap began selling its first Yeezy products in 2021. The first product sold out within hours and was the most successful product in Gap's history.

West hasn't ended his partnerships with either adidas or Balenciaga. He has been critical of Adidas on social media and said he would leave the contract as soon as it expired. The artist said on his social media account that he wants to open his own stores in Atlanta.
