Rio Tinto has been digging tunnels in the badlands east of Phoenix for the Resolution mine since 2008. Despite the efforts of the Biden administration, the project is not moving forward. A land swap between Rio Tinto and the US Forest Service was put on hold last year because it was considered sacred by the Apache.
