Local authorities scrambled after the group arrived in Martha's Vineyard on two planes without prior notice.

Local officials and volunteers arranged food and clothing for the group, which included children, according to the New York Times.

Taryn Fenske, the communications director for the office of the governor, told Fox News that they were sent to sanctuary destinations as part of the state's relocation program.

According to the Times report, the migrants did not travel from Florida but rather from San Antonio, Texas.

The governor of Massachusetts is in contact with local officials to provide short-term shelter services for the migrants.

The Governor of one of the biggest states in the nation has been hatching a secret plan to round up and ship people.

going just to gain cheap political points on Tucker [Carlson] and MAGA twitter. It's fucking depraved…These immigrants were not met with chaos, they were met with compassion. We are a community & nation that is stronger because of immigrants.”

Key Background

Thousands of Latin American immigrants have been bused to cities like New York, Chicago and Washington D.C., which are referred to as "sanctuary cities" by Republicans. The Republican governors of these states have accused the Biden administration of policies that led to the rise in border crossing by illegal immigrants. The mayor of Washington D.C. declared a public emergency after Texas sent thousands of migrants to the capital. Migrants will be bused to Democrat-run states from Florida. President Joe Biden's home state of Delaware has been threatened by a potential presidential candidate.
