Ernesto De La Cruz performs at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney World feature fun and festive frights. Disney Parks recently invited io9 to attend both Halloween experiences on a tour filled with tricks and treats; we were delighted to discover that you can take part in the fun regardless of your age.

If you can, get tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash, pick a costume, see spooky entertainment, and get as much candy as you can carry through the parks. You can find the next best thing if you can't make it in person.

If you want to attend the after-hours Disney California Adventure party, you need to get your tickets as soon as they go on sale. I was able to get tickets to see Zombie Captain America because I knew someone who would not be able to attend. You can see a lot of new and rare characters while trick or treating. You don't matter how old you are.

This year's meet and greets raised the bar with an amazing Coco villain trail where you can see Ernesto de la Cruz. We can't tell if it's a mask or a fake face, but the charismatic face character is great. It appears that he jumped out of the Land of the Dead. The attraction had the longest line because you wanted to stop and watch. Even if he isn't on stage, this line will move even if he isn't on stage, so good luck catching him. This type of performance is worth a bigger stage for, or even a new villains show in the future.

They are the perfect sisters. The characters were only featured on the Disney Cruise Halloween on the High Seas event, but now they are at DCA just in time for the sequel.

The performers for Oogie Boogie Bash are allowed to interact with guests as the characters in fun and innovative ways. Agatha spills all the tea when she meets you. You can have cool interactions with Sid from Toy Story and other films.

If you don't like waiting for the parade, you can add on a dessert party with lots of sweets and spooky drinks. That's right, so. That's a lot. There is a substance called sugar.

If you're going to Disneyland on a Halloween trip to the West Coast, there's a good chance you'll see the haunted mansion. Every year there is a gingerbread centerpiece in the attraction.

You can buy tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney World. Filled with trick or treat trails, live entertainment, and on-ride character interaction, this event is my favorite for destination travel.

If you stand on Main Street before the parade, you can see Max Goof wearing his Powerline attire. I missed him but here is a look at his costume. Go to the parade route at the park.

Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons is one of the many villains that can be seen in the Boo-to- You Parade. There are grave-digger sparks and ghosties like they walked off the attraction in the performance. I don't know if I'll be afraid of her or enthralled by her. They both are. I'm both times.

In August, the haunted mansion at Disneyland will be transformed into a holiday attraction. I like the Disney World approach because the haunted mansion stays in its spooky state through Halloween.

The haunted mansion is a great place to go on Halloween and there are hilarious ghosts who will make you cringe. They roast the living. The attractions have real performers on them that make them feel more realistic. Pirates wander around the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as well.
