This Sleek Flannel Staple Blazer from Theory looks ah-mazing. I love the light navy color because it's interesting but still subdued, and it just looks lovely. (Side note: Whenever I think of flannel suits, I think of AP American History, because we learned about some association with either the Secret Service or CIA. I can't remember what it was, and I haven't been able to google it yet, so if anyone knows, please shout it out!) This suiting seems like it would be soft but warm, because it's 100% wool.
Depending on which color you like, there are different matching options; the pictured blue offers cropped trousers and an A-line, long-sleeved dress to match. But the black has longer trousers available, and there's even a lovely gray option. Pieces are $355-$595 at Theory, with select colors at Neiman Marcus.
A somewhat more affordable option is from Elie Tahari in "steel blue": jacket and pants.
