Our 3 Cards, 3 Continents challenge is well underway with Greg, Nick, and Stephen scattered across the globe on distinctly unique adventures, showing just how many travel opportunities exist in this space.

Where in the world are the 3 Cards, 3 Continents contestants today?

Greg brought a professional concierge with him on his trip to make sure he got his food right. Nick is going with an adventure-packed approach that requires him to see a new country every day. Stephen removed a world record from his list. There are a lot of interpretations for the criteria.

We will look at each contestant's individual journeys so far, and we will also follow along on social media.

Nick’s trip so far…

Nick started out with 88K Capital One points, (75K from the welcome bonus and 13K from spend), 106K American Express Membership Rewards points (100K from the welcome bonus and 6K from spend), and 82.5K American Airline miles (80K from the welcome bonus and 2.5K from spend). He boosted his $1,000 starting allowance to $1,770 by cashing in 70K Membership Rewards points for $770. His card fees cost him $790.

Nick flew from DC to Cairo on Egyptair as part of a more complex flight itinerary which we will learn more about as he goes. He got 105,000 Air Canada Aeroplan miles by transferring 88k from Capital One and 22k from Amex. The previous version of the trip required more than 100K.

While in Cairo, he was able to take a tour of the Pyramids and Sphinx before heading back to Istanbul. He had time to join our Ask Us Anything from the hotel. He booked the stay with 10k of the points he bought.

Nick was already in Europe when he woke up in Istanbul. His packing strategy deserved a lot of attention. By the second day of Asia, he had achieved his third continent. He waited at the airport for the next leg of his flight in the Turkish Airlines business class lounge, which he says is the best in the world.

Nick seems to have a new life, and his itinerary today was no different. After swimming with whale sharks and sea turtles, he went to the airport for his next unknown destination. He had time to try to dry his swim gear with a hair dryer because he was able to get a late checkout at the Grand Hyatt. It's not all luxury travel.

The fourth day was titled "Nick, Nick Nick." I'm trying to keep up with you. He started his day on an Air Canada flight that was one of the airline's non-alliance partners and spent a few hours admiring the sites of Bangkok. He went back to the airport for a 5th Freedom Flight on Gulf Air just when we thought he might go somewhere else.

Stephen’s trip so far…

Stephen started with 156K American Express Membership Rewards (150K from the bonus and 6K from spend), 60K American Airline Miles, and 88.5K Chase Ultimate Rewards (75K from the bonus and 13.5K from spend). He boosted his $1,000 starting allowance to $1,546 by cashing out 88.5K UR ($885) and 50K MR for a $500 Home Depot gift card which he sold for $455. His card fees totaled $794.

Stephen started his trip with a flight from JFK to London on a new discount airline. He paid $228.80 for the flight. Despite flying a discount airline, he has been chilling in the Primeclass Lounge at JFK since he received his Priority Pass.

Much of Stephen's trip is shrouded in mystery as he mentioned that he chose Europe as his first destination for a very specific reason, though he gave some details about his day visiting castles and footballers here. We want to know what else awaits him in Aberdeen or somewhere else.

The mystery of why Stephen wanted to go to Scotland was solved today, he was going after the world's shortest flight. He was able to see more ancient sites than the pyramids.

Greg’s trip so far…

Greg started with 94K American Express Membership Rewards (90K from the bonus and 4K from spend), 84K Citi ThankYou points (80K from the bonus and 4K from spend), and 5 Free Nights and 16K Marriott points (Free night certs from the bonus, 12K from spend, and another 2K tansfered from Amex). He boosted his $1,000 starting allowance by cashing out 32K Citi points for $320. His card fees totaled $440.

Greg and his travel companion, Maisie, wasted no time in starting their travels, grabbing some delicious pastries from Tartine in SFO before they headed to the airport. Greg decided to share footage of the elegant United Polaris Lounge SFO instead of his tasty treats, but he will have to get over that by the time he reaches his next destination, because we're all curious about the gourmet adventures Maisie has in. We know that they are going to Tokyo, but it seems like they are not going to their final destination. What will they eat when they're there?

Greg and his chef had a lot of food before they left the airport. During their layover at the Narita airport, they found amazing sushi from the Tokyo fish market. Their Asian food explorations got a lot crazy before they touched down in Vietnam. I was jealous of the sushi, but not as much as the coconut worm shot. I almost changed my mind after reading the description.

The first cocktail was a coconut worm shot version 1 where they skewer the worm and cover it in cane sugar and then blow torch, and the second cocktail was a coconut worm shot version 3 where they skewer the worm and cover it in cane sugar and then blow torch.

Stephen Pepper speculated that I would be taking along a travel companion.

We're off. I set off for my first destination on Saturday.

Carrie wrote a post about packing for a round the world adventure. She said it in it.

If an ANA rep tells you that they don't need your credit card security code, you should take that as a good sign.

I had to make a decision as to how I was going to meet the deadline for buying points in the latest sale.
