2024 Ford Mustang

Ford considers the mustang to be in a league of it's own. The seventh generation of the famous American pony car may be true.

The new convertible and hardtop are powered by two gas engines. The Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro are expected to be electric in the future.

The all-electric mustang Mach-E is part of Ford's "Mustang family" strategy that also includes the redesign of the classic car.

Jim Owens, head of mustang marketing, said during a media briefing that customers want internal combustion and electric in their cars.

According to a report by automotive news, the last gas-powered muscle car from the Detroit automakers will be the mustang, as a planned hybrid variant was scrapped.

A new all-electric vehicle will replace the four-door Charger and two-door Challenger muscle cars at the end of next year. Chevrolet is expected to end production of the gas-powered Chevy Camaro in the coming years as part of General GM's plans to exclusively offer electric vehicles.

The mustang is the only option for gearheads who still want the roar of a V-8 engine in a sporty American car.

Detroit sports and muscle cars have been in decline for a long time. The last year of sales for mainstream two-door sports cars, such as the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro, were affected by global supply chain issues.

Owens said that some of their competitors were talking about not being in internal combustion engine sports car business.

Owens and other Ford officials wouldn't say if the seventh-gen mustang would feature a traditional internal combustion engine.

The car will be sold in the US next summer. The current generation of the vehicle starts at over $27K.

Fans of the car will be familiar with the exterior. It is an evolutionary change from the sixth- generation edition and has more muscular characteristics.

Chris Walter is the Ford mustang design manager.

The front and rear of the vehicle are different, but the overall dimensions of the car are similar to the current-generation mustang.

The V-8 and four-Cylinder engines are the same as before. Performance specifications were not released by Ford, but they will be better than today's vehicles. Automatic and manual transmissions will be available for the V-8 GT models.

The current 2.3-liter, turbocharged four- cylinder engine is capable of delivering 310 horsepower and 350 pounds-foot of Torque, while the 5.0-liter V-8 is capable of delivering 450 horsepower and 400 pounds-foot of Torque. The top speed is dependent on the model.

The most obvious changes to the seventh- generation mustang are on the interior of the vehicle, with a 13.2-inch center touchscreen and a 12.4-inch driver information cluster. The screens can be changed by the owner.

One of the new additions is an electronic drift brake that can be used for easier drifting, and another is a remote engine start feature that can be used by the owner.
