The Broncos will be without safety Justin Simmons for at least a month due to a thigh injury.
Simmons played every defensive snap in the Broncos' 17-16 loss to the Seattle. Simmons will not play in the next four games.
The game against the Los Angeles Clippers would be the earliest he could come back.
The Broncos signed Anthony Harris to the practice squad and promoted Essang Bassey to replace Simmons. Bassey and Harris have both played for the Broncos over the last two seasons.
One of the team captains, Simmons has been named to the Pro Bowl once, as well as being named a second-team All Pro twice.
Simmons was going to miss some time before Wednesday's practice after the Broncos decided to place him on injured reserve.
"We're still evaluating everything, getting a sense for what's going to happen, but we're assuming he's going to miss some time.''
He didn't play in the win over the Jets and didn't play in the loss to the Raiders.
