The Bureau seized his cellphone while he was at a restaurant in Minnesota and questioned him about his ties to Tina Peters, who was indicted earlier this year.

The subpoena asked him not to tell anyone about the investigation, but he published a copy of the letter and search warrant online and read excerpts from it on his show.

The impact of any disclosure could be detrimental to the investigation according to a letter signed by an assistant U.S.attorney.

Key Background

The likes of Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani have been vocal supporters of Trump in his attempts to undermine the election. He claims to have proof that the election was stolen from Trump, but his evidence has not been able to stand the test of time. He claims that he has been canceled by major retailers because of his claims of voter fraud and that he has been sued for defamation by two companies. His appearance in the case against Peters, who has pleaded not guilty to charges over a ploy to download data from voting machines, ties local investigations to the larger nationwide movement to overturn the election. Peters' case is one of several where people are accused of trying to gain access to voting machines to try and prove a conspiracy theory.
