Tesla chair defends the company's Shanghai factory, saying it needs manufacturing capacity on every continent to produce 20 million cars a year by 2030

That is more than what the company is making now.

Half of the 936,000 vehicles produced by the company were probably from its factory in China. The goal is to deliver 1.5 million vehicles.

Musk said on August 14 that the company has produced over 3 million cars since it was founded in 2008.

The company has factories in California, Texas, and Berlin.

There is a rivalry between the US and China that has resulted in tariffs being imposed on each other.
