The European Union's General Court upheld an antitrust ruling against the parent company of the internet giant, but reduced its fine.

There is a dispute between the EU courts and the company over the use of the operating system.

The court confirmed the European Commission's decision that there were illegal restrictions on manufacturers of mobile devices and mobile network operators.

The court did not overturn the decision in full. More choice for everyone, not less, and support for thousands of successful businesses is what Android has created.

The European Commission imposed a record fine on Google for giving an unfair advantage to its apps, such as Chrome and Search, by forcing phone markets to pre- install them.

Consumers using Android still have the opportunity to choose a phone maker, mobile network operator and install others, despite the fact that the operating system is not as popular as Apple's.

The General Court said the new fine was appropriate because of the significance of the violation.

It pointed out that Apple focuses on the sale of higher-end smart mobile devices while Google focuses on increasing the number of users of its online search services.

The majority of its services are free, according to the company.

The company can appeal the decision to the EU's highest court.
