Giannis ejected from EuroBasket quarterfinals after hard foul (1:00)

Antetokounmpo was thrown out of Greece's game against Germany for committing a hard foul. The song is called "1:00."

6:23 PM ET

Greece's hopes of winning a European championship ended after Antetokounmpo got thrown out.

Germany is taking advantage of its home court advantage.

Dennis Schroder had 26 points and Daniel Theis had 13 points and 16 boards as Germany defeated Greece in the EuroBasket semifinals.

In 30 minutes, Antetokounmpo had 31 points, eight assists, and seven rebound. He picked up two unsportsmanlike conduct fouls and was ejected with 4:56 left.

When he made his second foul, Greece was down by 14 and Germany was in control.

Germany has a chance to win a medal at EuroBasket for the first time. The Germans won the European title in 1993 and were second in 2005, so this will be their best EuroBasket finish since that silver medal showing.

"This is unbelievable for German basketball, the way this team, the way these players have performed on their home soil up to now," Herbert said. People can relate to how they've played. They see something.

Greece and Serbia were the only two teams that went through the group stage of EuroBasket with perfect records, led by a pair of two-time NBA Most Valuable Players -- Antetokounmpo for Greece and Jokic for Serbia.

The records didn't matter when the knockout stage came. Serbia and Jokic were eliminated in the round of 16 by Italy.

Greece's coach said they enjoyed the ride. The journey was enjoyable for us. The way that this team performs made a lot of people proud. We wanted to go more but didn't.

He was 5 for 5 from the field, 4 of which were from 3-point range, and 4 of which were from the foul line. Tyler had 13 for Greece.

Germany will play Spain in the semifinals on Friday.

The game was a lot physical. A large amount of points. I think we did a better job of guarding them in the second half than we did in the first.

Spain defeated Finnland 90 to 90.

In the past year, most of the names on Spain's national team have changed, with the roster that heads to EuroBasket significantly different from the one that played in the Tokyo Olympics.

The same expectations are still in place.

Spain, with just three players who got any significant playing time at the Tokyo Games last summer, powered into the semifinals by overcoming a 15-point deficit and beating Finns.

Spain scored 65-40 in the last 21 minutes of the game against Finland.

"We showed, one more time, togetherness, toughness, generosity, we shared the ball well," Spain's coach said. At the end of the day, this is what you can ask a team which is so inexperienced and new in this type of engagement.

Spain will play Germany for a spot in the final of the EuroBasket after reaching the semifinals for the 11th straight time.

Rudy Fernandez and Lorenzo Brown had 10 for Spain.

Juancho's older brother said it was a difficult battle. It was a tough battle. The first half was terrible. We didn't start the game with the right mindset. We told them at halftime to be us.

The tone for Spain's comeback was set in the third quarter.

Alexander Madsen had 13 points and Sasu Salin had 11 for the Finns.

The first trip to the EuroBasket semifinals was sought by the Finns.

Shawn Huff said that Spain is always so tough. They never stop fighting. We were able to give it a good try.

Wednesday's schedule.

France and Italy will play in the first two games of the quarterfinals.
