The National Security Agency

The National Security Agency of the United States is accused of using cyber tools to hack into a Chinese university. The university is ranked highly in the global university index for its science and engineering programs.

According to the U.S. Justice Department, the school is a Chinese military university that is heavily involved in military research and works closely with the People's Liberation Army.

China's National Computer virus Emergency Response Center (CVERC), a kind of digital defense agency equivalent to America's CISA, recently published a report accusing the National Security Agency of being behind the hacking incident. The school was hacked by members of the Tailored Access Operations group, which is made up of members of the National Security Agency. The US government can break into networks all over the world in order to gather intelligence.

The unit seems to have used a lot of hacking tools to break into the university. One such tool, dubbed "Suctionchar," is said to have helped infiltrate the school's network by stealing account credentials from remote management and file transfer applications The Equation Group, an elite National Security Agency hacking team, has used Bvp47 in previous hacks.

The agency has accused the National Security Agency of launching more than 10,000 cyberattacks on China over the past several years.

A diplomatic complaint was made against the NSA on Sunday. The director-general of American affairs at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement affirming the CVERC report and claimed that the NSA had jeopardized the security of China's critical infrastructure, institutions and personal information.

This would be upsetting. The government doesn't think of a good time when a foesteals your secrets. China has a track record when it comes to cyber espionage. The US has accused the Chinese ofinfiltrating American phone networks, state governments, manufacturing firms, and private accounts of American journalists. It's possible that China is calling the kettle black.
