The head coach of the Broncos is not happy with himself.

He told reporters that the team should have gone for it on fourth-and-5 at the end of the game.

The chaos at the end of the contest was a fitting metaphor for how the contest unfolded.

In the second half, the AFC West team couldn't get out of its own way with both Javontae Williams and Melvin Gordon fumbling on goal-to-go situations. Settling for a field goal after a false start helped derail a goal-to-go situation on the next possession felt like a huge improvement.

The Broncos had a chance to win after all that.

Russell Wilson led the visitors to the 46-yard line in the final minute of the game, after he threw for 340 yards. They had a golden chance to ice the win when they faced the 4th-and-5 with all three timeouts.

The offense took its time while the clock was running. The Broncos had to call a timeout to get some of the confusion under control. Brandon McManus was going to kick a 64 yard field goal after the game.
