Andy Reid blames injuries on Cardinals' turf (0:41)

There were multiple injuries to the Chiefs because of the turf at the stadium. There is a 0:41

3:53 PM ET

The turf in Arizona was blamed for the injuries to two key Kansas City Chiefs players.

Trent McDuffie was injured and lost his job. The injury to Butker forced the Chiefs to use a safety to kick two extra points.

The field at Arizona's State Farm Stadium is a good place for players to practice. It was a tad loose. Sometimes it's loose when you replant.

The Butker and McDuffie injuries were related. I would tell you that it was due to the turf picking up. I would let you know if it did not. It isn't an excuse, but you all can see it. It's a good idea to watch the tape.

McDuffie will be out for at least three more games after the Chiefs placed him on the injured reserve list.

Butker probably won't play against the Bolts. He wouldn't be working in the team's only full practice on Tuesday.

Matt Ammendola could be promoted to the active roster in time for Thursday's game after he was signed to the practice squad.
