Joe Buck (l.) and Troy Aikman

If Brian Flores can file a lawsuit against the National Football League for its racist hiring practices, then he should be able to file a lawsuit against television networks for whitewashing the football team.

Fans have had a chance to see every lead broadcasting duo that will call games this season. Both Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are on the air. They are at FOX. They are still at CBS. KirkHerbstreit and Al Michaels can be found on Amazon. NBC has a couple of commentators, including Mike Tirico.

There wasn't a single black man in the picture.

That last line made you laugh if you are aware. You think that line is missing Tirico. Tirico doesn't identify as Black even though he would be listed on a census or police report.

The self-proclaimed "Italian guy from Queens" told the New York Times that he didn't need to check any boxes.

The Apollo wants to improve it by using it day or night. The silent, soothing vibrations sent by this tool will improve focus, benefit sleep, and help you feel in control.

The Blackest Italian of all time told the Syracuse Post-Standard that he didn't know what race he was.

He doesn't encourage it but he doesn't back off of it. You can call me that. There is no one in my family who is black.

NBC shouldn't count Tirico as a minority hire since he doesn't consider himself black. Only white men and Italians are being allowed to lead broadcast booths.

Ted Cruz likes to act like his real name isn't Rafael Edward Cruz because people forget that his name is Antonio Ramiro Romo. Cruz's father is Cuban and his mother is Canadian. The two men have Latino heritages. He was given his own category for the sake of cultural awareness.

Back to Tirico.

Tirico is an example of how racist the broadcast booth has always been. When Drew Brees left NBC after a stint that exposed how bad he is at discussing football on television, they replaced him with another white dude, who was also a Cowboys head coach. That show has a lot of different things. Maria Taylor is a black woman and Tony Dungy is a black man, both of which are part of the team.

If you want to know if things are better in the college ranks, they are not. Take note of the lack of color on the Saturday morning shows as they feature the play-by-play man for Fox Sports. If it wasn't for Reggie Bush and Desmond Howard, those shows would be all white.

What do you think about a country where football is the most popular sport and where the men coaching on the field and the ones who bring it to you over television are all white?

Black people and intelligence are insulted by it. We don't have the mental capacity to teach the game we dominate, but we do have the ability to analyze it.

The talent in the booth needs to have a grasp of things bigger than football, as players kneeling in the NFL and college, to name a few. It leads to a lot of gaffes and apologies.

There is a simple fix to all of this, but it requires something that has been difficult to sell in the past. Whitewashing occurs in football from the sideline to the broadcast booth. It doesn't mean it's a good excuse for them not being better than they should be
