Several outlets reported Tuesday that the shareholders of the company voted to accept Musk's offer to take the company private.
CNBC reported that the vote was passed in a five minute investor call.
According to the Wall Street Journal, there were enough votes to approve the measure.
Tuesday was a bad day for markets, but that didn't stop shares from rising to $42.16.
The company agreed to terms with Musk after he disclosed he was the company's largest shareholder. It was an odd marriage, considering Musk was a harsh critic of the platform's policies, and the spark between the two quickly flamed out, as Musk filed paperwork to back out of the deal. Delaware's Court of Chancery is where the lawsuit was filed to force the deal to go through. The argument was strengthened when Peiter Zatko, the former head of cybersecurity at the company, went public with his complaint. The judge in Delaware ruled last week that Musk could include information from the complaint in his countersuit.
There was a 28% increase in the number of people. The price Musk paid for his shares is more than the price on the stock ticker. After Musk said he was buying up the stock, it surged over $50 in April and May before he went public with his doubts.
The Delaware trial will last five days and begin on October 17th.
The Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimony from Zatko on Tuesday. He told lawmakers that an executive from the platform dismissed his concerns about foreign agents on the platform. According to Forbes, Sen. Ron Wyden was deeply disturbed by the testimony.
We think Musk is worth more than any other person. The majority of his fortune is due to his stake in the company. If he couldn't back out of the deal, Musk sold $7 billion of his stock in the company.
The growth of the company was more important than the growth of the government.
Even as he keeps trying to terminate it, shareholders of the social media company voted to approve the deal with Musk.
Musk won the request to include the claims of the whistle blowers in the suit.
