The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the second game in the series. The game will be released on the Nintendo Switch on May 12th, 2023.

We got to see some more action shots of Link in the new trailer, but Nintendo didn't give us a lot of information about what we can expect. There is a new Sheikah Slate power that seems to reverse time when Link climbs on top of a rock. Link takes a few leaps into the sky, but in one shot, he lands on a bird-shaped glider. There is a brief moment of Link climbing on his own, so it seems as if we will be scaling a lot of vertical obstacles again.

In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, the newest entry in the storied Legend of Zelda series will take you up into the skies and an expanded world that goes beyond that! The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on the Nintendo Switch in May of 2023. The opening paragraph of the release seems to hint at time travel.

It has been a long time since Nintendo said it was working on a full sequel to Breath of the Wild, and we still don't know when we'll get to play it. The company showed off what we now know as Tears of the Kingdom in a stunning trailer during E3 2021. We can all plan on going to Hyrule on May 12th.
