The United States will face Great Britain in the Davis Cup finals in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Group D will feature the USA, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan, with the winner going to the finals in Malaga.

Britain have won the event 10 times, most recently in 2015, and will be competing with six other people.

The group matches will be held at Glasgow's Emirates Arena.

The national anthem will be played and a minute's silence will be observed at the start of the game as a mark of respect for Queen Elizabeth II.

The Lawn Tennis Association believes that sport has an important role to play in bringing the country and communities together despite some sporting events being canceled.

Great Britain have four players ranked inside the world's top 50 in singles, but only three of them are in Leon Smith's squad for the men's team event.

Norrie is up to eighth in the rankings, with Evans 25th and Murray 43rd, while Salisbury and Skupski are first and third in the men's doubles.

Salisbury and Ram could face each other in the group stages if they win the US Open.

The Davis Cup trophy was won by Great Britain in 2015, when three-time major champion Andy Murray helped end a long wait for a 10th title.

How does the Davis Cup work?

The Davis Cup is considered to be the 'World Cup of tennis' by many nations.

16 nations will try to finish in the top two places in their group in order to qualify for the finals.

The nations play two singles matches and one doubles match against each other. Glasgow is one of the host cities for the group Stage.

The quarter-final stages will be hosted by Malaga over the course of six days.

After losing to the USA in the first round of the US Open, the Great Britain will play the Netherlands on Friday and finish their campaign against Kazakhstan on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz is going to represent Spain.

Serbia will be without a 21-time Grand Slam champion when they face Spain.

Alexander Zverev won't be making his return from an injury he sustained at the French Open.

Coverage of Great Britain's group matches can be found on the iPlayer and the Sport website.
