Anthony Joshua in the ring after his fight with Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua has accepted Tyson Fury's terms for a fight in December and is waiting to hear back from his management company.

A 60-40 purse split to the champion and a December fight date was suggested by Team Fury.

In a statement posted on Twitter and shared by Joshua, 258MGT said: "258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm, on behalf of Anthony Joshua, that we accepted all terms presented to us by Fury's team for a fight December 3rd last Friday."

All communication was halted due to the passing of the Queen. We are waiting to hear back.

Initial terms have been agreed but Joshua is yet to sign a contract.

Last month, he challenged Joshua in a video posted on social media, after saying he was retiring after beating Dillian Whyte.

Joshua lost for the third time in his past five bouts when he was defeated by Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

The venue for the December fight, should it go ahead, is yet to be confirmed, but there is a clause with a 50% split in the second fight.

Saudi Arabia or another country in the Middle East could be considered for the stadium.

There are still hurdles to overcome before the fight is completed, with both fighters signed to rival promoter and broadcasters.

A boxer needs to be ranked in the top 15 by all the governing bodies in order to win a world title.
