Hays Travel North West has been open for 21 years.

The agency, which has 44 branches across Wales and the north-west of England, reported a sales increase in August compared to the same month last year.

Foreign exchange transactions were 40% higher and cruise bookings accounted for 20% of total bookings last month.

In 21 years of trading, August has been the busiest month ever.

A lot of that was down to late bookings and I think that a lot of people just had to get away.

The majority of the bookings made last month were for winter holidays.

Turkey, Greece, USA, Cyprus and Portugal were all popular destinations for customers, even though Spain and the Balearics were still the most popular destinations.

The top performing staff member earned more than 700 in bonus and commission payments in August.

There is a new trend of family holidays to high-end destinations.

Bircham said that high-value bookings to quality destinations are often funded by grandparents who want to share a holiday with their children.

They want to spend their money on a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they can enjoy with their entire family.

Hays Travel has a 40% stake in the agency business.

Bircham has over 200 staff in 44 branches and he wants to expand.

He said that they are still looking for new sites and that they offer a training package.

Travel agents are looking outside of their industry to find new talent.

Hays Travel wants to increase the number of franchise members.
