The cooling fan accessory is designed to lower the temperature of the phone under heavy gaming loads. Extra ports, as well as being a cooling accessory, are offered by the Stream. It will be available for pre-order in Japan for 23,100 renminbi, or around $162 at the current exchange rate.
The aim with these kinds of accessories is to let a phone's processor run at higher speeds for longer, by preventing the kinds of high temperatures that can lead to performance-limiting issues. The AeroActive Cooler is part of the gaming-focused ROG Phone lineup, while the fan is attached to the phone.
Four additional ports can be found on the bottom side of the cooler. There is a 3.5mm jack for attaching a gaming headset, as well as an HDMI port for outputting game footage to a capture card. You can adjust the fan's speed by using Sony's software.
The bundle that Sony is selling with the Xperia Stream is called the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition and has a price tag of around 1,300 Japanese dollars. The version of the phone sold in this bundle has more memory than the one in the base model. It is not known when or if the cooling fan will be released in Europe.
