Thank you very much, the estate of David Bowie has a very believable excuse for removing its widely-derided non-fungible token line.
The "Ziggy Stardust" legend's estate took to social media over the weekend to say that it was postponing its forthcoming NFT collection, "Bowie on the Block", out of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The DavidBowieReal account posted that they would update soon.
There are a number of issues with this announcement, not the least of which is the deletion of the collection announcement three days before the Queen died.
There was no love lost between the House of Windsor and the Thin White Duke. The late monarch had offered to make him a knight.
After twice rejecting an offer to become a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, he told The Sun tabloid that he wouldn't accept it. I don't know what it's for It isn't what I spent my life working for, but it isn't for me.
He wouldn't say if he rejected knighthood because of issues with the crown.
I don't know if I am anti-monarch. I would only have a serious answer to that if I lived in this country.
In spite of his rejection of the title accepted by most British rock stars, Bowie's legacy was used to honor the Queen after Toyah Wilson and Robert Wilcox dedicated a home-recorded cover of "Heroes" to her.
The whole thing is cringe but not as much as the NFT collection.
Desperately poor people could be in video games.
