When I see miles discounted, I always try to add to my balance, but prior to covid, a 50% bonus was the best deal.

Some people have received 70% bonuses, but they were highly targeted and needed to have spent a lot of points in the past to be eligible. It is the best we have seen so far.

Alaska miles can be used to fly expensive business and first class flights at a fraction of the price. As I explain what I am talking about in more detail, most of you already know what I am talking about.

I don't recommend buying points if you're speculating. If you see a good use for them, you should buy them.

The 60% bonus on purchased Alaska Miles is tiered so you’ll see this:

The more money you spend, the bigger the bonus. The bonus ends on 9/15.

You can purchase up to 100k with a 60k bonus ( 1.85c per point ) In a single purchase

You can only buy 100k + 60k in a single purchase, and how many purchases you can make depends on your elite status.

If you have elite status with Alaska Airlines, you can repeat the purchase as many times as you want to fill your account with the desired miles you need.

Alaska won't limit the total amount of miles you can purchase for their elites, just the total you can purchase at one time. 100k + 60k bonus... If you want a bonus, you can add as many points as you want.

You are limited to 150k miles per year if you don't have elite status. I would divide them into two purchases.

• Buy 100k with 60% bonus = 160k
• Buy 50 with a 60% bonus = 80k
• Max Total = 240k

How long do Alaska miles take to populate your account

They fill most of the time. Don't think that it will happen. The miles took a little over a day to get to my account after I wrote an entire post about this. It could go on for a long time.

Alaska Airlines is a part of One World

Alaska Airlines decided to join One World in 2020. It became official on March 31st. It is better to have Alaska Elite Status than it is to not have it. You can read the break down here.

It is worth considering when planning a trip when there are offers to get points at a discounted rate. Buying points can result in a cheaper out of pocket cost. I flew to Australia in Qantas First Class for 70k miles, but these are difficult to come by.

The ticket sells for around $10k and with points around $1 400. It works for domestic flights as well. Alaska will often have a one way premium transcon flight that costs over a thousand dollars. It's easy to redeem there.

Alaska also allows you to book in a stopover on Award tickets.

The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong was booked with Prive benefits and I spent three nights there.

We flew on the A350 from BNE to HKG and then HKG to LA. The Business Class is one of the top selling products in the world.
