King Charles began painting in the 1970s after he was inspired by his art teacher. The school is located in a wooded area and is close to the beaches of the Moray Firth.

His paintings were first exhibited in 1977. Queen Victoria was an avid watercolorist and the Duke of Edinburgh was a painter and designer.

The 1986 painting of Castle Mey shows a family home. The queen mother lived in the castle.

There is a castle on the north coast of Scotland. The Queen Mother was close to King Charles and was the home of Queen Elizabeth II.

He spent his formative years in Scotland, where he finished many of his paintings.

He paints at the pond in Helmsdale, Scotland, where he fishes.

The king, who has donated all profits from his artwork to The Prince of Wales's Charitable Fund, likes to paint outdoors and favors mountains, streams, and the surrounding areas of the Queen's estate at Balmoral.

Queen Elizabeth II was in charge of the castle until she died. Prince Albert bought the home for Queen Victoria in the late 19th century.

These hills are depicted in a painting by Charles.

It was thought to be Queen Elizabeth's favorite residence.

Granny is the most happy person there. Princess Eugenie said in the documentary "Our Queen at Ninety" that she thinks the queen loves the Highlands.

He likes watercolors because they are quicker to finish and he doesn't have to keep his security detail waiting too long.

The work of King Charles became very popular in the UK and abroad. He made an estimated $2 million from the sales of his watercolors from 1997 to 2016 and was one of the country's best-selling living artists.

His work has been displayed. An exhibition was held at Buckingham Palace for his 70th birthday.

The Royal Paintbox: Royal Artists Past and Present exhibition was held at Windsor Castle.

They published a children's book called " The Old Man of Loch Nagar" in 1980.

The Cultural Center was opened in Hong Kong in 1989 by the former prince and his wife.

According to the Los Angeles Times, in 1986 King Charles and Princess Diana traveled to Kyoto, where they visited temples and Zen gardens.

The king spends a lot of time in Switzerland, where he stays at a ski resort and paints mountains.

The Daily Mail says that King Charles likes the ski resort of Klosters.

One of his paintings was used on a ski pass in 1997.

He celebrated 40 years at the ski resort with a party. He narrowly escaped an accident there. He said that he had never forgotten the sound of it. There are huge clouds of snow. I thought to myself, My God.

His work has appeared on stamps in the United Kingdom.

The king's watercolors were put on the Royal Mail's stamps.

Arkle is in the northwest part of the Scottish Highlands. The mountain is made up of Cambrian quartzite, which gives it a lustrous appearance.
