Apps That Have Added iOS 16 Lock Screen Widget Support

The Lock Screen in Apple's mobile device operating system can be configured with a variety of tools. You can have up to five different things on your lock screen, including four below the time and one above the time. Third-party app developers are able to createwidgets for the Lock Screen, even though they are not available from Apple.

We've rounded up a bunch of third-party apps that have implementedwidget support so you can see some of the options available to you. If you're planning on getting an iPhone 14 Pro, you'll be able to see thewidgets even when your screen is off.

Flighty

Flighty has a number of different options to choose from. When you are ready to travel, you can see your gate code, seat number, and take off time. When the flight is in the air, you can see an in-flight progress bar, and then when you land, you can see your arrival gate, weather, and baggage information.

Facebook

It's possible to see which friends have birthdays on Facebook, and it also gives you top updates from the people that you follow.

Apollo

You can choose from a number of funWidgets that Apollo has to offer. You can see if you have any unread messages with the inbox, karma, and distance scrolled widgets. You can see how your most recent post is performing, as well as an option to go to a favorite subreddit.

Fantastical

You can see upcoming events with Fantastical's Lock ScreenWidget. Fantastical also supports focus filters.

Gmail, Chrome, and Maps

We highlighted earlier today that a number of newwidgets have been added to the apps. There are a lot of things to do with Google Maps, News, and more.

• Google: Initiate a search via text, voice, or the camera by opening up the app
• Gmail: View the number of messages in your inbox
• Chrome: Initiate a search, including by voice or in incognito mode
• Google Drive: Quickly access starred files and folders
• Google Maps: View real-time traffic updates and estimated travel times to frequently traveled places like home and work
• Google News: View real-time headlines

It's possible to set up a thing that will take you to your Today list, Inbox, and more. You can make awidget for any list. Things has a small one below the clock that shows three tasks and a larger one above the clock that shows a single to-do.

You can add a new to-do and see the progress that you've made with your daily to-do list with the new to-do option.

Halide

You can use the Halide camera app from the lock screen. You have quicker access to the Halide camera, if you tap it.

Paku for PurpleAir

Paku has an update that adds air quality information to the Lock Screen for people who use Purple Air.

Slopes: Ski & Snowboard

Ski app Slopes has a season stat that shows how well the app is performing.
