Though we were able to prevent our eyes from rolling out of our heads, we were not saved by an escape clause. Bernard, the elf from the first two Santa Clause movies, is back. Disney was able to avoid a Last Jedi situation.
Is it possible that you're missing me? Toward the end of the trailer, Bernard asked. Yes. He missed out on the third movie in the trilogy after finding an Escape Clause of his own. Disney replaced him with Martin Short.
Tim Allen's character Scott Calvin is giving up the ghost of Christmas past and is retiring as Santa Claus, turning this movie into a succession story with far less "fuck offs." Tim Allen promised the crowd at D23 yesterday that the movie would dive into all the background shit Santa Stans have been requesting for. Allen had a lot of questions about the Santa business and how he sold the show. Disney is making a movie about the origin of the stupid wishing star, so why shouldn't we ruin the magic around Santa?
Allen asked the crowd if Mrs. Clause had a first name. The history of Santa is going to be discovered by us. There are no other humans at the North Pole. Two children are at the North Pole. I don't know where I came from. Disney probably didn't cast Tim Allen in Lightyear because he had too many questions about it
Allen promised that The Santa Clauses was a wonderful, beautiful story and that Bernard might come back. The first two chapters will slide down the chimney and into your nightmares on November 16th.
