Due to police issues surrounding the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, the game between Manchester United and Wigan will not be played next Sunday.
Football in the United Kingdom was put off last weekend as a mark of respect to the queen, who died on Thursday.
Following discussions between the football governing bodies and the authorities in the U.K., all scheduled midweek games will go ahead this week. Police in London need to focus on the huge crowds expected to travel to the capital for next week's state funeral, which is why the game has been postponed.
Due to police officers being redeployed to provide security for the queen's funeral, the high-profile games at Old Manchester and Stamford Bridge have been put off.
The planned rail strike will not go ahead due to the cancellation of the BRIGHTON vs CRYSTAL PALACE game.
"After extensive consultation with clubs, police, local safety advisory groups and other relevant authorities, there was no other option but to postpone the three fixtures."
The U.K. Football Policing Unit and other police forces across the country, as well as our broadcast partners, for their support during this process, and will continue to interact with them ahead of the weekend."
TheQueen will be remembered at the stadiums during the period of National mourning. The new dates will be announced soon.
