After months of rumors, speculation, and leaks, Apple last week finally unveiled the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, the all-new Apple Watch Ultra, and the second- generation AirPods Pro.

There were some rumors that didn't pan out, like the last-minute rumors on the iPhone 14 Pro. We rounded up five rumors that didn't work out for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.

Prosser: No Camera Bump, Round Volume Buttons, and More

Jon Prosser shared renders he claimed to have been for the "iPhone 14 Pro Max" days before Apple was set to announce the new lineup. Prosser claimed in his renders that the iPhone 14 Pro Max would feature a flat back with no camerabump, round volume buttons, a single hole-punch notch replacement, and a redesign of the speaker and microphone grilles.

The renders turned out to be incorrect, with Apple opting for a hole punch and pill-shaped notch instead of the standard speaker and microphone grilles, and making room for more advanced cameras.

2TB Storage Option

There was a rumor early in the rumor mill that suggested that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would be offered in a 2 terabytes of storage. With the more advanced cameras, Apple would be able to offer a larger storage option for photographers and videographers. That didn't turn out to be the case, as Apple continues to offer the highest capacity ever in an iPhone with the iPhone 14 Pro Series.

Premium Titanium Model

There was a rumor that the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max would be made of titanium. The same materials were used on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max as their predecessors.

WiFi 6E Support

Apple has yet to bring the latest wireless standard to the iPhone lineup, despite rumors that it will be in the next iteration of the device. Compared to all of Apple's latest products, there is better support for crowded areas and better Latency. It's not clear why Apple hasn't adopted 6E support, but we could see it on the phone next year.

Upgraded Ultra Wide Camera

In November of 2020, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Ultra Wide camera in the 14th iteration of the device would have the same improvements as the previous ones. The specifications for the iPhone 14 did not turn out to be correct. The Ultra Wide camera on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus has a five-element lens and an f/ 2.4 aperture. The Ultra Wide camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max has a six-element lens and an f/ 2.2 aperture.
