Giants' bold choice pays off with late lead on 2-point conversion (0:24)

After Chris Myarick scored, the Giants decided to go for two and convert when Daniel Jones threw the ball to Saquon. 0: 24.

In his first game as a head coach, the New York Giants should have gone for the 2-point conversion or kicked the tying extra point. He was always going in a different direction.

The Giants were able to convert on a shovel pass to running back Saquon Barkley to upset the TennesseeTitans 21-20. It was New York's first win in the first week of the season in two years.

Why didn't the man flinch when faced with the decision late in the game?

He told them to go for the victory. We will be aggressive. We would like to do that. The players need to have that mindset. I can live with it if it did not work. I believed that was the correct decision.

The defensive players on the bench were asked their opinion by Daboll.

If we score, I'll go for two. Is that something you like? They agreed.

Even though the game was still being played, the Giants players were on board and ready to play. The kicker for Tennessee missed a field goal at the end of the game.

I was on the field when we scored and I saw him put up the two sign and we made eye contact. He gave me an idea of what the play was going to be. I looked back at him after he gave me that look.

We were able to execute the play after calling it up. He is a man of his words. He said he would be aggressive. He said he would lean on the players to make plays. He did that in that circumstance. It's going to make you fight for him and execute when you have a coach like that.

The Giants never led until the last minutes of the game, but the 2-point conversion was the difference.

McKinney said that he was told to go for two. We were like, "Hell yeah!" We did not want to say no to the game. We were happy to call it.

The Giants have a winning record for the first time in almost two years.

It wasn't surprising to see that type of aggressiveness late in the game. He called a naked bootleg for Jones to run on a fourth-down play.

Since he was hired, Daboll has said this would be the way he would coach. He told his players about it.

The decision to go for two was made before the game started. He said he wouldn't coach scared. He did that. All of us knew it. He told us that we were going for it.

He said he wouldn't coach scared. Everything the man says is true.

Shepard said that he has trust in them. That is the only way to show it. That's something we appreciate. Pressure situations are what we want to be in. There are guys that want to be in those positions. I asked everyone in the huddle who would make that play. We were prepared to make it.

The players presented the new general manager and his predecessor with game balls after the win.

It was a special win for Daboll because he was the first coach. He last visited Nashville in October of last year when he was the Buffalo Bills' offensive coach. He found out about his grandfather's death on the plane.

His grandparents were from New York. His grandmother died three weeks ago. His grandfather died at 95 years old and he returned to Nashville to remember it.

His grandfather told him before he left that they were going to win. He told him that they were going to win.

He told his grandpa to be there when he got home. His grandpa gave him a fist pump and wink.

As he told the story to the reporters in Nashville, he got emotional. He explained that he was holding a pendant with his grandparents' ashes in case the field goal didn't go his way.

This is what I was doing when I kicked the ball. He said he had the ashes of his grandparents. I looked up after holding them and looking at them. I did that.

The Buffalo team lost 34-31 to the Tennessee team last year after the death of a family member. It ended in a different way this time.

He said it was his first victory. I lost my grandfather on the plane as I was about to land last year. After the game, it was weighing heavily on me.

I thought about them when he didn't catch it. I'm not from a lot. Two people helped me get to my location.

The head coach of the Giants is going to be remembered for a long time.
