Images of what appears to be the packaging for a virtual reality headset surfaced online, posted by a Facebook user who claimed it was left in a hotel room. Meta has been teasing the device since late last year and it appears to be the one seen in leaked setup videos.

The images surfaced one month ahead of Meta's Connect event on October 11th, which is when the company will unveil its next virtual reality headset. We expect to learn more about Project Cambria and the other plans for the metaverse, augmented reality, and virtual reality.

The images were shared in the comment section of a post on the Facebook group. The iPhone 4 prototype left in a bar in 2010 was the most famous occurrence, but it was not the only one.

A sticker on the alleged Meta Quest Pro box indicates it’s an engineering sample.

The packaging has a label stamped in the top left corner and a graphic showing a black headset and controllers. A closeup of the label stuck to the box that says "Not for resale - engineering sample" was provided by the man.

It is possible that Meta has settled on the name "Oculus Pro" because of the references to the "Oculus Pro" found in Meta's code. Meta didn't reply immediately.
