New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas catches 2 TD passes in 1st game in nearly two years, says he has 'more work to do'

After his first game in almost two years, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas wasn't ready to say he was fully recovered.

In the 27-26 win against Atlanta, Thomas had five catches for 57 yards and two touchdown. It was his first reception in the league since he had five catches in the Saints' victory against the Bears.

Thomas didn't make his first catch until the 11:58 mark of the third quarter, but he felt like he could have made more.

The Saints overcame a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Falcons.

He was at a loss for words to describe how he felt when he returned to the end zone. The quarterback threw a 3-yard pass to Thomas for the first touchdown of the game. Thomas said he was overcome with emotion and didn't want to get a penalty, so he threw the ball into the stands.

He was able to keep the ball because the fan who caught it threw it back.

He said that he didn't want to hurt the team.

The Saints had seven catches for 114 yards and three catches for 41 yards by the rookies.

Thomas said that it was just a small taste. We wouldn't say we got started until the second half. That was a lot of football we let get away. We are playing a complete game. You guys haven't seen anything yet, we're all capable of getting open and playing.
