It was already confirmed for a fourth season of the show last year, so it didn't get the axe from DC. The Teen TITANS has never been afraid of digging into the parents of its emotionally stunted superhero cast, and season four aims to continue that trend by bringing in the character of lishor

The inclusion of Luthor means the show can finally dig into Superboy, a clone of Superman, and who was able to avoid capture from his father. According to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Greg Walker said that Lex will challenge the TITANS on a more intellectual level. Since he doesn't have a suit of armor, he has to be powerful in other ways. Walker said that he sees the world through the lens of his own power and his own weakness. He is personable and you know what he has done and what he is capable of doing. His approach to evil and power is very thoughtful.

Walker said that Welliver was a genuine fan of the show and was willing to play the role. He said thatitus is a giant fan. The most unexpected call I've ever had was when he told me about the Wolfman/PerezTitans editions.

Walker said that this season would be a deeper exploration of all the characters, but Superboy would be the one who would have the biggest impact on the season. The human part of his heritage hasn't been explored a lot, and this is the perfect time to do it as the TITANS embark on a road trip. Walker isn't saying if we'll get an appearance from Superman to give the kid some guidance. It is strange to be Superman right now.

In November, the show will return to the network.
