Disney is in the middle of D23, its annual celebration of everything. The first full trailer for the company's long-in-the-works Hocus Pocus 2 will be released this Saturday.
The new trailer gives us a better idea of what the sisters will look like in the movie. A mysterious older witch played by Ted Lasso is said to have given Winifred her magic book and ways to murder children. There are a lot of callbacks to the 1993 original, including a scene in which Parker makes a big noise. For anyone who needs that in their life today, Kathy Najimi is floating on a hoverboard.
A lot of opportunities for Midler, Najimi, and Parker to ham it up, some funny little lines from Sam Richardson, a couple of plucky teen protagonists, are what you would want from a Hocus Pocus sequel. This time, they let Doug Jones speak. If nothing else, it looks silly and fun, and the leads seem to be having a good time.
On September 30th, Disney+ will show the sequel to Hocus Pocus.
