Apple usually holds an event in October focused on new iPad and Mac models, and this year will likely be no different. We have a good idea of the products that will be announced at an event in October.

There are rumors that Apple will announce new iPad Pro models with the M2 chip, a redesign of the 10th-gen iPad, and at least a few more Macs powered by the M2 series of chips.

iPad Pro With M2 Chip

The M2 chip and MagSafe wireless charging support will be included in the new iPad Pro models. The 11-inch model of the iPad Pro won't have a mini-LED display.

The next iPad Pro models will have the same design as the current models, but with four pin connections on the top and bottom edges. The purpose of these connections and whether they would replace the three-pin Smart Connector on the iPad Pro is not known.

Apple last updated the iPad Pro in April 2021, with new features including the M1 chip, a Thunderbolt port, 5G support for cellular models, and a mini-LED display on the 12.9-inch model.

10th-Generation iPad

In October, Apple is expected to release a new entry-level iPad with a larger display, a larger port, and a rear camera. The A14 chip is rumored to have 5G support.

While the 10th-generation iPad is expected to retain a Touch ID home button, it is rumored that the device won't have a headphone jack.

The latest iPad Air and iPad mini models will have a Touch ID power button on the top edge, according to a questionable report. According to the report, the camera could be positioned in the right corner of the device for landscape use.

In September of 2021, Apple released the 9th-generation iPad with features such as a 10.2-inch display, an A13 Bionic chip, an upgraded 12-megapixel front camera, and double the base storage. The price of the iPad in the US is $329 with 64 gigabytes of storage.

More Macs With M2 Chips

We are likely to see at least a pair of those machines about two months from now, according to Gurman. Mac mini With M2 and M2 Pro Chips

In November 2020, Apple released the Mac mini with an M1 chip. A new version of the Mac mini with an M2 chip is on the way.

A model with an M2 Pro chip will replace the higher-priced Mac mini with Intel chips.

MacBook Pro With M2 Pro and M2 Max Chips

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will be released as early as this fall. Gurman has said in the past that the timeframe could be pushed back due to supply chain disruptions.

According to some reports, the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips may be Apple's first 3nanometer chips, but it looks like they will stay 5nanometers. The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips have small performance improvements over the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Mac Pro With M2 Ultra and "M2 Extreme" Chips

A version of the Mac Pro tower was teased by Apple after it announced the Mac studio.

The new Mac Pro is expected to be announced by the end of 2022.

Gurman said that the new Mac Pro will have "M2 Ultra" and "M2 Extreme" chips. It's possible that the new Mac Pro will be smaller due to the switch to Apple Silicon, but it's not clear if the desktop computer will have any major design changes compared to the current Intel-based model.

The Mac Pro would be the fastest Mac ever, beating the Mac Studio with the M 1 Ultra chip.

Apple TV With A14 Chip?

It's not clear if Apple will announce a new Apple TV during the October event or at another time.

According to Gurman, a new Apple TV is in development with an A14 chip and 4GB of RAM, but it's not clear if it's the same model that Kuo referred to. The current Apple TV 4K, which is equipped with an A12 chip and 3GB of RAM, is slower than the internal upgrades.

The Apple TV 4K starts at $179 and the Apple TV HD starts at $149. There are a lot of streaming sticks for less than $100.

iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura Release Dates

The release of iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will likely be announced at the event.
