The Department of Justice is appealing an order for a special master to look over the documents seized by the FBI at former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.

Christie thinks the Justice Department has a good chance.

The DOJ was prevented from moving forward with its own review of the materials after a judge granted the Trump team's request to protect some seized documents.

Joe Biden is the only executive who can claim the privilege. It is not possible for a previous executive to claim executive privilege. Christie said that they are not the executive anymore.

There will be no executive privilege over these documents. The idea that some of these documents are protected by attorney-client privilege is going to be difficult for the DOJ to overcome.

Christie said the DOJ had no choice but to search Mar-a-Lago and seize the materials.

The nature of the documents is not the only thing that makes it different. We have a good idea of when the event will take place. The Department of Justice has been asking nicely, negotiating with his attorneys, taking up partial production, and not responding to a subpoena for 16 months. They had to take them because of the nature of the documents.

More than 100 classified documents were found at the Palm Beach, Fla., resort, as well as dozens of empty folders marked as classified in Trump's personal office, according to newly released records.

During his time as a U.S. attorney in New Jersey, Christie worked with some of the most sensitive information in the world.

In the post-9-11 era, I had to go into a special room to review it. I couldn't take photos. I couldn't bring anything with me. There was that in Trump's desk. It's a problem. I don't think he'll be prosecuted, but we should get those documents back
