Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Arkansas moved into the top 10 after an upset-filled weekend in college football.

They took two weeks to get back to where they were a year ago. Georgia beat Alabama 33-0 in a game that was close.

It wasn't so much about what the Bulldogs did this week as much as what they did last week, combined with the fact that the Tide needed a field goal at Texas on Saturday.

The rest of the top 10 was shuffled, but no one dropped out.

The Oklahoma moved up in the rankings. USC was ranked 7 for the first time in over a year.

The rest of the top 10 are new.

Texas A&M and Notre Dame fell out of the top 25 after being upset at home. It was the first time since 2020 that two top 10 teams lost at home to unranked teams in the same week.

Notre Dame is unranked for the first time since September of last year.

It's a common occurrence for No. 1 to win and lose. It has happened 81 times since the AP college football poll began.

Twice during the season, the top spot changed hands while teams remained perfect.

The Longhorns were rewarded for their effort against Alabama by moving into the top 25. Missouri did it in 1997 and the Longhorns are thought to be the first team to lose and still be in the Top 25. The Flea Kicker game took place after that.

Penn State appeared in the rankings for the first time since November, when the Nittany Lions dropped out.

The 25th ranked Oregon put up 70 points on Eastern Washington.
