According to reports, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is close to returning.
According to Ian Rapoport, Thomas will play against the Falcons.
Thomas was expected to be active for the season opener. Fantasy football managers should be excited about the fact that the wideout is playing despite being questionable for the game.
Drake London is expected to play despite being questionable with a knee injury.
Thomas hasn't played in an NFL game since January of 2021, when the Saints were knocked out of the playoffs by the Bucs.
He missed most of the season because of an ankle injury and then sat out the rest of the season due to ankle surgery. When training camp opened in July, he returned to practice for the first time in over a year, but he injured his leg a few weeks later.
When he spoke to reporters earlier this week, Thomas was cautious about his chances of playing.
I'm ready to play. Thomas thinks it's obvious. I don't want to get carried away. It's not over yet.

Thomas was named the AP NFL offensive player of the year after recording 149 catches for 1,725 yards and nine touchdown in his last healthy season.
Fantasy managers would be happy if Thomas came close to those numbers. He had future Hall of Famer Drew Brees throw to him back then, so his production might look a little different this time. It shouldn't take long for Thomas to become Jameis' favorite target.
