Lamar Jackson turned down a contract offer worth about $250 million, according to a report.
The Ravens offered Jackson a deal that topped contracts recently signed by Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray, but they fell short of offering a deal that was close to the one given to Deshaun Watson by the Cleveland Browns.
Jackson, the only one of the quarterbacks with an award on his mantle, wanted a guaranteed deal like that of the other ones. Jackson will likely be franchise-tagged next March after the Ravens refused to make such an offer.
"He and I talked about it yesterday, like, 'Hey man, let's go be our best, and go focus on football,'" Harbaugh said I know nothing will change because he's been doing that for a long time. We're just concentrating on Sunday.
Jackson doesn't want to negotiate during the season. Jackson could prove to be a mistake in the long run if he represents himself.
Jackson would want to matchWatson's fully guaranteed contract and eclipse his entire contract. Jackson is the more accomplished of the two quarterbacks on the field and has no off-field concerns likeWatson, who will serve an 11 game suspension for allegedly engaging in sexual assault and misconduct with more than 20 women.

The Ravens were incensed by the fact that the Ravens would not be able to negotiate a contract with their franchise quarterback because of the fully guaranteed deal the Browns gave to Deshaun.
Wilson and Murray decided to take more standard deals that did not include full guarantees. Wilson received only $124 million in full guarantees from the Broncos, while Murray received $103 million in full guarantees from the Cards. Even though millions more are guaranteed, those numbers pale in comparison to the deal given to the man.
Jackson wanted a full boat for himself and the Ravens were hesitant to set a precedent.
