The increase in threats to Congressional members is linked to rhetoric about the 2020 election by former President Donald Trump and other members of the GOP.

An armed man was arrested and charged with felony stalking after camping outside of her neighborhood. A woman told police she heard the man say he was going to kill her.

The connections between stolen election rhetoric and the increased threats that Congressional members are facing are something that she wants people to understand, she said.

There is a sense that everything is unfair and it has been propelled by Donald Trump. The only recourse is to violence and that is extremely dangerous. We saw it come to fruition on January 6 and have seen it outside my door.

Some Congress members have released threatening voicemails that target them and their families.
