San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is expected to miss Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears with a groin injury.
Kittle was hurt during practice on Monday and has been out for a while.
He told reporters Friday that he was feeling better than he did earlier in the week and that he would do everything he could to play.
Kittle missed a lot of games over the past two seasons due to injuries. He missed a lot of games in 2020 and 3 more last season due to pain.
In 14 games last year, the 28-year-old caught 71 passes for 905 yards and six touchdown.
With Kittle out of the lineup, more work will be given to Ross and Tyler. There should be a heavier workload for the wide receivers.
