Stephen A. Smith is an excellent television host. He casually cascades between phrases in a commanding voice. I envy his ability to say something. He has a number of brain farts that can't be ignored. Smith has had unfortunate moments in his career that have revealed that he is not as knowledgeable as he claims. There was a moment this weekend. Smith answered questions from host Molly Qerim as he finished up an episode of 'First Take'. Smith said he was going to go with the Bolts.
Qerim wanted to know why.
They were: Williams, Herbert, and Allen. Smith said that nobody stops that offense.
Austin Ekeler was left off of Smith's list, but it's hard to argue against his analysis. The Bolts are going to have a great offensive performance against a weak Raiders secondary.
Smith backed the silver and black when he was asked who he thought would win between the two teams.
Smith said he didn't know before he joined the Raiders. If the Bolts score the most points of anyone in their division, it will be hard for the Raiders to beat them. Smith said he expected the Bolts to score the most points in the division because they are in the same division as the Broncos. It makes sense to pick the Raiders to win their game against the Bolts.
Smith is over working at ESPN. Look at his face when he is being questioned. The man is out of it. His mind is somewhere else. He just needed a break and didn't know what he had said. I know Smith doesn't like the Cowboys, but he needs to go somewhere else to drive the content for the rest of the year. Get him prepared by clearing his mind. Nobody wants him defending Dallas this season.
